FLUID ANALYSIS

Third Party Fluid Analysis
Weld Power offers fluid sample analysis performed by a third party laboratory on your unit’s fuel, lubrication, and cooling systems.

Fluid analysis takes a twofold approach to your generator’s health.  First, the analysis determines the condition of your system’s fluids through a variety of tests.  These tests can show glycol content, lube oil viscosity, wear metals, bacterial growth, etc.  Then, Weld Power evaluates any abnormal results with an expert from the third party lab to discuss any corrective actions we may recommend.  Recommendations are then sent to our customers for their review.

Weld Power’s Role
Performing a fluid analysis, such as an oil analysis, during a maintenance visit significantly improves the predictive nature of the program.  Often impurities in the fluids allow us to forecast potential problems and prevent them before they become catastrophic.  Wear metals and inorganic contaminants can indicate problems deeper than any maintenance check can see.
Upon receipt of the analysis, we are able to create a dialogue between our expert technician and our lab expert to pinpoint what the problem is and how we are going to fix it, combining the lab data with our expert technician’s first-hand knowledge of the unit.

Corrective Action
As the leading independent generator service company in the area, Weld Power is well equipped to provide any corrective actions suggested by our lab.  Repairs range from simple fluid changes to fuel filtering and conditioning or replacing internal components of the generator.  While often changing the fluid can correct the problem, we want to be sure we are treating the problem itself, and not simply treating a symptom of a larger problem.  This is why we bring together as much knowledge as possible before making our assessments of your unit.
